Bad Link Week 1

This website is absolutely terrible…It has like a blinking background and just looks absolutely ugly. The colors don’t work together. It has things scrolling across the screen that are just annoying and distracting. Also it has NO navigation…and is just scroll up and down with a bunch of ads everywhere. There is really no way to interact with the website…But it is kind of funny because the entire website is telling you all of the bad things to never do when creating a website.

Yes, it is, and it is a good example of someone trying to pursue bad web design. Try to stay away from Angelfire and other free hosts. This site endeavors to be bad, so for example, if you google’d “world’s worse website you would find this” (it might even be the first link). Instead look for sites that relate to the week’s theme and try to be good designs, but fail. This will be far more effective. In the late 90’s there were designers who used to go fishing via email, fax and phone. They would find bad sites and offer their services. In a pinch, you could do that around town and perhaps drum up your own business. Of course, you don’t want to be offensive.

The most important thing is that you search for the educational experience in the good/bad sites. Apply what we have been learning in class to defining a good or bad site. You might realize that once seemed like a good design, ceases to be, or vice versa.

Next assignment you will not get full credit for intentionally bad sites.
