http://morebad.com/ I chose this as my bad link because it is for an advertising agency I believe and the whole functionality and interactiveness was very frustrating for me. It is pretty cool that they have the entire idea of a grid structure that expands and contracts but is also frustrating because you can click on some images and then slightly move you’re mouse and then the image will shrink again. I think that it is also a little cluttered with too much imagery. There is also a navigation on the bottom of the screen…out of the way and hard to see. But they aren’t even links all they do is highlight the material that relates to that category on the screen. I wish they would link to another page where it just had that material. Overall its very creative but not so successful.

http://www.nikon.com/about/feelnikon/universcale/index_f.htm I chose this as my good example this week because it is a really fun interactive website that deals with size relativity. It is called Universcale and it progresses all the way from outer space all the way down to the atom. When you click on one of the objects that is moving along it will give you a brief description. Also when you enter a new tier it will give you a description of what it is and what kinds of things are in it and what they have done for the world. It is a good tool for learning scale and size relativity. It has a cool flow and 3D depth sensitivity. It is also very easy to navigate. All you have to do is use the click of the mouse to navigate around. The bottom part of the webpage lets you click through larger portions of scale or you can just let it go by itself.

For my bad link I chose www.factmonster.com. I chose this website because it seems like it is based more towards children and the overall design is very cluttered and focused on the center of the page. Also there is that annoying space up at the top that is solely for video advertisements which are always annoying. Some of the navigation doesn’t really make sense overall, the categories seem very random and not organized. Let alone the buttons or square that is used for the navigation seems very sloppy. How is cool stuff going to help you find anything? It is just random and broad. The functionality doesn’t seem like its all there. I mean after you click on a category and it goes to another page the navigation gets a little bit better and focused on the right. But then when you click on a category it takes you too a pretty long list of sub categories that for most viewers will just give up because they don’t want to sift through all the crap.

For my good link this week I chose http://neckerisland.com. I chose this website because for the target audience, the rich and famous, this is a pretty good site. The video at the beginning shows that they are all focused on you and that when you come to our island that you will never have to do any work and we will be at you’re beck and call. It has pretty easy functionality. It looks very clean, crisp, and beautiful. The navigation is very easy and folds up and down. It is very picture oriented and is not very text oriented which is good for the purpose of the site. They explain the activities and services on the island by showing you through pictures with very minimal text. They are trying to convince the viewer that this is going to be the most relaxing, comfortable, fun, and amazing vacation they have ever been on while promoting class, quality, and the best experience. Most people if they are looking at this site have a lot of money and don’t really care too much about the details of cost and what many people worry about when booking a hotel.

This website is absolutely terrible…It has like a blinking background and just looks absolutely ugly. The colors don’t work together. It has things scrolling across the screen that are just annoying and distracting. Also it has NO navigation…and is just scroll up and down with a bunch of ads everywhere. There is really no way to interact with the website…But it is kind of funny because the entire website is telling you all of the bad things to never do when creating a website.

Good Interactive Websitehttp://www.fordvehicles.com/cars/mustang/gallery/colors-and-360-views/ I chose this as a good interactive website because you can go through a 360 view of the entire car. You can even change the background to see the way light plays off the car, artificial and natural. You can go on a full interior view of the car to see if you like the way it looks. You can change the color of the cars and customize it to your liking. Also the site is designed well. It is nice, clean, and straightforward and not that hard to navigate through.
